Product News | WEH® Flange Connector for gas trains

As the leading manufacturer of connection technology WEH offers a comprehensive range of products in quick connectors for pressure and leak testing. For more than 40 years, WEH has been developing innovative quick connectors and has acted as a reliable partner to companies in all major industrial branches. Over the years we have developed a wide variety of different quick connectors but also very many customised solutions especially for the needs of individual customers.

WEH is currently working on yet another product innovation. In order to test the flow rate and the pressure of a complete gas train you need a flange connection to insert onto the flange ports with a nominal bore of 50 mm conforming to EN 1092-1 on each end of the gas train.
Gas trains consist of a pressure regulation unit, a flow volume meter and a safety unit and are deployed mostly in production processes using heat technology, forced-draft gas burners, thermal power plants, gas motors, co-generation plants, industrial ovens and steam boilers.
The flange ports with which the WEH® Connector joins up are positioned at the pressure regulation unit and the safety unit.

The WEH® Flange connection is fitted with a rotatable test piece holder, which allows it to be positioned and fastened to the flange simply and easily. It is actuated pneumatically, by applying a pressure of 6 to 8 bar to the pilot pressure port. Flow and pressure testing begins by allowing the test medium to flow in.

Manufactured using high-quality stainless steel and aluminium and fitted with top-quality sealing, the flange connection is suitable for many different operating media, including air, water, mineral oil and helium. It is also designed to withstand operating pressures of up to 24 bar and to work within a temperature range from -10 °C to +80 °C.
